Beaches
Alicante is home to several excellent beaches. Just a few steps from the cultural centre of the city, you have the wonderful Postiguet beach. This large stretch of sand is impeccablty maintained, fully serviced with bars, sunbeds and even features a floating waterpark during the summer months. Other popular spots include the 3km of golden sands of San Juan playa, Cabo de las Huertas, Almadraba, Albufereta and more. There are dog-friendly beaches as well as those with special easy access areas for those with disabilities.
The Resort
Alicante is a fantastic city by the seaside. Here you find the hustle and bustle and energy of city life without the overcrowding and stress of bigger cities like Madrid and Barcelona. Alicante is home to a wonderful array of restaurants offering every cuisine as well as several districts with their own distinct character including the old town with its cobbled streets, churches, cathedral and wonderful small tapas bars and pubs. Alicante has so much to offer, from the beautiful marina to the casino, excellent shopping ands a unique cosmopolitan character.
Location - Area Guide
Alicante is situated on the Southern Costa Blanca 15 minutes from Elche to the South and 20 minutes from Benidorm to the North. Just outside the town you find the golf courses of El Plantio, Bonalba and the Seve designed Alicante Golf in San Juan. There are daily boat rides to the small island of Tabarca and there are a host of walking trails just outside the city for nature lovers. The city is well connected by the N332 National Road and AP7 and A31 motorways. You are just over 10 minutes from the Airport and will find the Renfe train station that connects to the whole of Spain including the high-speed rail network to Madrid and other regions.
