The Orihuela Costa
The Orihuela Costa encompasses the coastal resorts of La Zenia, Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima, Cabo Roig and more. There are a host of excellent blue flag beaches scattered across this stretch of the Costa Blanca. Popular spots include La Zenia, a good sized beach with a large bar-restaurant that overlooks the sea and Cabo Roig, a charming cove between the cliffs. Whether you are looking for a dog-friendly beach, a beach with water sports or simply a nice space for a family day out, The Orihuela Costa has what you are looking for. These popular resorts receive heavy investment to ensure that the beaches are presented well all year round.
The Orihuela Costa is a popular region for expats from the UK and Northern Europe. Here you can enjoy the comforts of home under the Spanish sunshine. Whether you want a full English Breakfast or a pint of Guinness and live rock music in an authentic Irish pub, or your favourite groceries from Germany or Scandinavia, The Orihuela Costa has it. In a sense, it feels a little like a holiday destination and yet outside of the busy summer months, it remains a thriving collection of communities. It is a local tradition to spend Christmas Day on the beach. Hundreds turn out every year to celebrate their new life in Spain.
