Guardamar - El Raso
Beaches
The long golden sands of Guardamar extend over 10km in total, either side of the Rio de Segura. The beaches of La Roqueta and Centro are the urban beaches featuring a promenade with plenty of bars and restaurants that look out to the sea. Continue south and you will find the popular spot of El Montcaio, a wider stretch of sand bordered by dunes and serviced by a chringuito bar-café. Guardamar´s beaches have earned 4 blue flag ratings due to the high standard of service, clear waters and cleanliness. Just south of Guardamar, you will find the beaches of La Mata. The town of El Raso sits between both, offering great options within 5 minutes in either direction.
The Resort
Guardamar is a popular Spanish seaside town. While there are a few British and Irish venues, there is a much more Spanish feel about the town. While not as large as Torrevieja, Guardamar is a a working town with all amenities available and a vibrant daily life including markets, shopping and bars and restaurants on the seafront and town centre. El Raso is a popular urbanisation that sits 5 minutes from Guardamar and offers more home comforts including British bars and restaurants as well as hair and beauty salon. The resort continues to rise in popularity due to its proximity to the beach, great neighbourhood and competitive property prices.
Location - Area Guide
Guardamar lies just 10 minutes on the N332 National road from Torrevieja and 15 minutes down the coast from Santa Pola. The town is just 25 minutes from Alicante airport and 30 minutes from the train station that connects Alicante to the rest of Spain. The nearest golf courses are La Marquesa, Vistabella and La Finca, all of which are around 15 minutes drive away. El Raso is well connected to various other town and urbanisations including the popular town of Quesada and neighbouring Benijofar and Rojales
